Cause/Effect

Cole's Regret

Author’s note: This piece is explaining the cause and effect in the book Touching Spirit Bear. This story can also be used for Character Development.

Cole Matthews is the main character in Touching Spirit Bear. He is always full of anger and one day decides to take all that anger out on a school classmate named Peter. And Peter gets severely injured.

The effect is that he now is getting a punishment of either spending one full year in prison or one full year stranded on an island in Alaska. He accepts the punishment of one full year stranded on an island in Alaska. There he becomes face to face with the Spirit Bear.

If this event didn't occur, it would change the whole event in the story because he wouldn't of became a different person. He wouldn't of learned from his mistakes and his punishment. So he would of still of  been that terrible delinquent in the beginning of the story.
